"The action! No holds barred, dynamic, very up close and personal. The action is not just flashy science fiction, space opera theatrics. It's visceral, head spinning, brutal. It accelerates, slams the brakes, lurches and plunges the reader into freefall after freefall. Howard Night orchestrates combat scenes like a symphony conductor, hitting the right note and creating a captivating medley of violence."

"This is a suspenseful, edge of your seat journey that kept me turning pages all the way to the end. I want MORE--more of these characters and more of this story. Five thumbs up for The Serpent Cult and I'm anxiously awaiting the sequel!"
The SERPENT CULT
Mountairy Rock...a modern city with an ancient soul where goliath trees dwarf skyscrapers, hidden packs of werewolves roam the rooftops, covert witches practice their crafts and a leviathan of a Demon secretly builds its own army of crazed worshipers.
For Max Madigan, this was going to be the year he would finally earn his Doctorate, start his career and hopefully kick his long dormant love life back into gear.
But the New Year starts with a grisly massacre at Haley Museum. In its after math Max discovers the Stone
Just by picking up the piece of debris, Max’s life path is irrevocably altered. Worse, the cult responsible for the murders now knows that it's in his possession. Their members are crazed, maniacal and in some cases; serpent eyed and fang toothed.
Fortunately the mysterious Stone seems to be in tune with his peril. It fills him with its power; the incredible strength, speed, and heightened senses of a feral animal. The mystical energy is just enough to keep Max half a step ahead of the cult.
But that power attracts enemies and allies alike; a flame haired vixen from the secretive Downhills and a mercurial witch have taken a keen interest in both the Stone and Max himself. They serve as guides to the side of Mountairy Rock that he's never seen, warning him of its dangers, of the Serpent Cult... and of the Demon.
Though it's the members of the Cult that will fight, kill, and die if necessary, Max must ultimately deal with the Demon intent on possessing the Stone.
Beset on all sides by danger, the stage is set for the decisive face-off between the Demon and an exhausted and beaten Max in the back alleys of Mountairy Rock.
